The road

Every seat at the table, taken in turn.

The consultant’s chair came first, seven and a half years of due diligence ahead of deals, vendor selection, cybersecurity and information risk, all of it spent grading other people’s technology for the people who had to pay for it.

Then came the carrying. He has led transformations across eleven countries, run technology organisations of hundreds of engineers, held the budgets underneath them and written strategies that institutions still work by.

At the top of that road is the Chief Technology Officer’s chair, where the whole technology of an institution stands behind one signature. In his hands, systems of national scale went through changes that allowed no second try, and they came through first time. Every one of those seats is still in the room when the studio takes on a client’s technology.

The measure

The standard this studio is made of.

The line on every page of this house is a working rule. The habit behind it was formed where a mistake costs money and trust inside the same hour.

The studio is that habit with a name and an address. Nothing leaves it before it passes his measure, and that measure is stricter than any brought to it from outside.

Certificates make nobody good at the trade.

They are listed because the studio’s teaching stands on them, and because somebody across the table will ask to see them.

The name

What a name on the door is for.

A company without a face can change everything and be somebody else tomorrow. A name on the door cannot: whoever put it there answers with it, in a place that does not move.

So the studio’s standard and the standard of the person who founded it are one and the same. There is no next department here to hand the responsibility to.
